My name is James. I’ve lived in the area for 13 years. I fell in love with coffee and tea at a young age and for 20 years of my life I dreamed of owning my own cafe where I could provide the best coffee and tea I could find. This past year that dream came true and I am now the proud owner of Qathra.

I designed Qathra to be your go to place you can rely on for top quality coffee and tea in a relaxing ambiance. Our menu is full of innovative and great tasting food you can enjoy while listening to some nice, mellow jazz. We have cozy indoor seating as well as an outdoor garden with murals.

Our coffee is from Cafe Integral, a small operation managed by a mother and son duo. They purchase all their beans from Nicaraguan farmers that they frequently visit, and roast in Williamsburg. We get the coffee straight from their facility, with no middle man.

Our teas come from Silk Road Teas. I buy directly from Ned, one of the owners, who goes himself to China to choose the leaves. I’d been drinking Silk Road myself for years because of the high quality, so it was the obvious choice.

Our food comes largely from local businesses. I buy whatever I can from the Farmer’s Market on Courtelyou Road and Flatbush Food Coop. We make our own muffins and almond croissants. We serve Bread Alone breads, and the rest of our pastries come from Baltazar Bakery.

We pride ourselves on both our customers’ experiences and the coffee, tea, and food we provide. If you haven’t met us yet, we hope you’ll drop by soon for your own serving of Qathra Cafe.
