Roy Nathanson and Tim Kiah

Ditmas Park Natives Roy Nathanson and Tim Kiah will perform at the neighborhood's
lovely Qathra Cafe. In addition to performing original music, the duo will perform arrangements of Jazz & Soul songs from the 60's and 70's. Roy Nathanson, a New York Post-Bop, Avant-Garde Saxophonist and Poet co-founded the Jazz Passengers with Trombonist Curtis Folkes in 1987. Many prominent artists - Blondie's Deborah Harry, Elvis Costello, Jeff Buckley, and Mavis Staples have been featured on his recordings. Tim Kiah, a bassist, singer, and composer works in Nathanson's band Sotto Voce, a vocally inspired ensemble feturing Nathanson's Poetry interpreted through Hip Hop, Soul, and groove based arrangements. The group has performed at festivals in New York, London, Paris, and Berlin, and has been featured on NPR & the BBC.
